He was predeceased by: his parent Walter Henry Horton; and his wife Virginia Jones Horton. He is survived by: his parent Hattie Louise Gomer; his children, Trudy Horton Cuthrell, Eleanor Horton Willits (Richard) and James Walter Horton; his grandchildren, Jenny Louise Cuthrell, Joseph Donald Cuthrell, Jr. (Lizna Biscotti), Mallory Horton Holley (Richard), Taylor Horton Bollig (Chase) and James Walter Horton, Jr. (Becky Bishop); his great grandchild Lucas Holmes; and his brother Elliott Horton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
