She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Daniel Strum; her parents, Mary Blanche Fritts Gardner and Woodrow Wilson Gardner; and her brothers, Charles Gardner (Sally) and George Gardner (Donna).

The family asks that memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
