She was predeceased by: her mother Elsie Spivey. She is survived by: her husband Jack Pettit; her siblings, Elsie Duke, Mary Butler, William Carr, Jr. and James Carr; her children, H. J. Pettit, IV (Kim) of Carrsville, VA and Beth Lunde (Jim) of Chesapeake, VA; her grandchildren, Stephen Lunde, Sam Lunde and Erin Noelle Pettit; and her brother John E. Carr (Mae) of Washington, NC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
