He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lou Guyton and Russell Dean Nichols; and his sister Mary Dean N. Gray. He is survived by: his children, Russell David Nichols, Jr. and Jennifer L. Ashton (Johnathan); his grandsons, Drew, Elijah, Russell III, Kevin and Flynn; and the mother of his children Donna L. Nichols. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in David's name to MCV Children's Hospital.
