We are sad to announce that on October 17, 2023, at the age of 95, Robert L. Smith (Suffolk, Virginia), born in Burlington, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Thelma Smith; his in-laws, William and Annie Duncan; and his son-in-law Sammy Cowan (Sam).

He is survived by: his wife Annie Duncan; his children, William Smith (Jeannette) and Cindy Cowan; his grandchildren, Billy Smith Jr., Lindsey Smith and Jerry Johnson; his cousins, Al Rowe Gaskill, Donna Morgan and Dawn Price; and his close friends, John Perry and Mary Jane. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.

Donations can be made to Oakland Christian Church in Suffolk, Va.
