She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Ferguson Carter and James Otis Carter; and her former husband Michael Andrew Covington. She is survived by: her daughters, Elizabeth D. Pippins and Brandy M. Kent (Aaron); her stepchildren, Amanda, Melvin, Courtney and Phillip; her grandchildren, Andrew Tyler Covington (Kaila Nichole), Michaela Casper, Lucas Casper, Ayden Kent and Austin Kent; her great grandchild Aurora Kaylin Covington; and her sisters, Carolyn Swanberg (Gerald) and Polly Hansen (Don). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home (667 Court St, Appomattox, VA 24522).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
