It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Lee Bolton (Suffolk, Virginia), born in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, who passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Larry G. Bolton; her parents, Mary P. Barnes and William Leggett; her siblings, Clarence Barnes (Ann), Bennie Edison Barnes (Thelma), Jeff Barnes, Bennie Barnes Jr. and Ina Turner; her niece Robyne Barnes; and her great-niece Jodie Schenk.
She is survived by: her friend Sandra Parker (Baker); her in-laws, Lori H. Barnes of Conway, N. C., Nancy B. Austin of Lasker, N. C., William Turner, Sr. of Suffolk, VA and Thelma Barnes of Courtland, VA; her goddaughter Sonia Carr of Ohio; and also Lorrie Baker.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Wilroy Baptist Church (306 Williams Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434). A graveside service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wilroy Baptist Church or Pine Forest Rest in Potecasi, N.C.
