With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rachel Gray Richards of Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on January 18, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Rachel Gray is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Rachel Gray's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hurley R. Gray and Ruby F. Gray; her husband James W. Richards Jr.; her sons, Donald E. Richards and David E. Richards; and her granddaughter Erica L. Richards.
She is survived by: her children, Donna R. Leigh, Dianne R. Arrington (Gene), Dawn R. Lester (Danny), Dana E. Richards and Daryn E. Richards. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the R. W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory (509 W Washington St, Suffolk, VA 23434). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Holly Lawn Cemetery (1525 N Main St, Suffolk, VA 23434).
