She is survived by: her daughter Wendy F. Gardner (Joe); her son-in-law Dean Heffernan of Edenton; her sisters, Rubie B. McClenney (Ellis) of Portsmouth, VA and Mary B. Gardner of Suffolk; her grandchildren, William Elliott Heffernan of Edenton and Ashley Lynn Wilcox of Edenton; and her great grandchildren, John Michael Kirby and Aaron Dale Pope.
