She was predeceased by: her parents, Verna Newman and William Royal Elder; and her brother William Royal Elder, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Gloria Barnett Barrett (Judd) of Pittsboro, NC, George Harden Barnett, Jr. (Beth) of Punta Gorda, FL and Glenn Elder Barnett (Mary) of Richmond, VA.. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holly Lawn Cemetery (1525 N Main St, Suffolk, VA 23434). Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the R. W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory (509 W Washington St, Suffolk, VA 23434).
