She is survived by: her sister Martha Patillo of Spring Valley; her nieces and nephews, Ella Walker of Portsmouth and Claire Chamblee (William) of Hampton, Virginia; and her children, Kendall, Wendell Whitfield of Suffolk, Virginia, Lin Saunders (Pam) of Franklin and Valerie Bond of Portsmouth, Virginia.. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and eleven great- great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
