He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hugh Gray and Bettie Whitley Gray; his siblings, Earl, Vernard, Ralph Gray, Merlen Lassiter, Jacquelyn Clary and Joyce Harrell; and his wife Nather Crutchlow Gray.
He is survived by: his sister Bettie Gray Allen; his children, Jeffrey Hugh Gray (Lisa) and Cynthia Gray Ward; and his grandchildren, Amy Gray Moxley (Greg), Sarah Gray Mikac (Andrew), Jeffrey Gray, Jr., Benjamin Ward (Emily) and Grayson Ward (Lindsey). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
