It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Thomas Powell of Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on October 21, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sydney Waldon Powell, Jr. and Edith Eason Hunter Powell; and his siblings, Sylvia and Homer. He is survived by: his wife Linda Harrell Powell; his daughters, Christy Michelle Powell Cordova and Tammy Powell Motley; his sons-in-law, Edward "Chris" Christopher Cordova and Ernest "Ed" Edward Motley; and his grandsons, Hunter Franklin Motley, Landon Cole Cordova, Nolan Luke Cordova and Dalton Jude Cordova.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
