It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest L. Reid Sr. (Suffolk, Virginia), who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Reid and Emma Reid; his siblings, Bishop Herman Reid, Lawrence R. Reid, Norris Reid and Marion Cross; his son-in-law Steve Fitzgerald; and his godson Nathan-Michael William Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Annie Mae Everett Reid; his children, JoAnn Reid Fitzgerald, Susan Stokes (Karl) and Dr. Ernest Reid Jr. (Sherelle); his grandsons, Karl Jonathan Stokes, Ernest Lee Reid, III and Noah Zachery Reid; and his goddaughter Ariel Willis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.

In lieu of flowers please make "in memory of" contributions to Little Mt Zion Baptist Church.
