It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Matthews Kessinger Libby (Suffolk, Virginia), who passed away on August 18, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William E. Kessinger; her parents, Richard Matthews and Tinnie Matthews; and her nephew Thomas Ryan, Jr. (Libby). She is survived by: her children, William "Billy" Kessinger (Pat) of Suffolk and Carolyn Rawlings (Bobby) of Greenville, WV; her siblings, Shirley Ryan (Tom), Billie Jo Hoggard (Basil) and Richard Irvin Matthews (Carolyn); and her grandsons, William Kessinger (Erin), Jason Rawlings (Rachel), James Rawlings (Danielle) and Richard Kessinger (Megan). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
