She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Ruffin and Martha Ruffin; and her siblings, Fannie, Louvenia Ruffin, Gloria Riddick, James McCoy, Roy, Tom Jr., George Thomas and Robert Ruffin.
She is survived by: her nephew Kaaron Ruffin; her husband Nathaniel Hunter; her godchildren, Sharde' and Alex Brown, Jr.; her siblings, Lucille Johnson, Alberta Neville and Shirley Donaldson; and her siblings-in-law, Gloria Hunter, Gwendolyn Hunter, Linda Finney, Lumumba Lasana (Thandi) and Larry Hunter (Anita).
