He was predeceased by: his father Richard G. Byrum; his former wife Kimberly A. Byrum; and his sister-in-law Iris Byrum. He is survived by: his wife Joanne T. Byrum; his children, Hannah B. Jones, Kaity Carr (Russell), Kelly Woltemath (Tyler), Rylee Bell and Brian Olszyk (Mayra); his grandchildren, Austin, Aren, Curren, Ashten, Jep Alvah, Kayle and Bryan; his mother Lelia W. Byrum; and his siblings, Ricky Byrum, Mary Styron (Homer), Vicky Fleming (Bob), Terrie Butler (Philip) and Ben Byrum. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Southside Baptist Church (917 Carolina Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434). A reception was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
