He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Alexander and Katie Carman Massie (Cash); his daughter Aleata Kay Johnson (Massie); his siblings, Malcolm Massie, Herbert Massie, Harold Massie, Layton Massie, Ceylon Massie, Irene Arnold, Erma Brown, Rachel Barnes, Virginia Massie and Hilda Hartman; his granddaughter Morgan Renea; and his great grandchild Kharisma Renea.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ginger (Mike) of Lexington, Kathy (Roger) of Stuarts Draft, Wanda (Tim) of Crozet and Donna (Rob) of Harrisonburg, Virginia. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
