He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Carpenter and Mary Frances Carpenter (Dickerson); and his sisters, Linda and Diana Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Bundy-Carpenter of Stuarts Draft; his children, Rachel Carpenter of Staunton and Benjamin Carpenter (Brittney) of Verona; his grandsons, Trevin and Kingston Carpenter; his siblings, David Carpenter (Christina) of Verona and Dale Simmons (Doug) of Staunton; and his brother-in-law Linwood Bundy, Jr. (Fontella) of Staunton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
