She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Robert and Mary Lena Swortzel (Brown); and her siblings, Robert Melvin Swortzel and Louise Grove. She is survived by: her siblings, Leonard Swortzel of Greenville and Anna Virginia Sowers of Leesburg, Virginia; and her close friends, John Ralston and Eddie Galvin. She is also survived by three nieces; four nephews.
