He was predeceased by: his parents, Stevens Toney Turner and Eunice Mae Bateman Kirkman; his brother James Turner; and his stepfather J. D. Kirkman. He is survived by: his children, Steven Turner of Royal Oak, MI, MaryKate Turner of High Point, NC and Kelly Turner of River Rouge, MI; and his sisters, Laura "Sissy" Lawson of Martinsville, VA, Linda Reynolds (Leander) of Spencer, VA and Toni Hancock of Bassett, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
