He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edgar Light and Rosa Myrtle Lawson Light; his wife Francis Motley Light; his brother L. D. Light; and his half-siblings, Obie Collins, Junior Collins and Ruth Lawson.
He is survived by: his son Tommy Knowles (Angel Blanchette) of Alden, Michigan; his grandchildren, Keegan Knowles, Aidan Knowles, Ava Knowles and Lydia Knowles; his great grandchild Cecelya; his stepson Johnny Motley of Stuart; his stepgrandson Michael Motley; and his sisters, Carlene Inman of Stuart and Lena Inman of Martinsville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
