She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Marshall and Clara Cockram Marshall; her husband Hubert Shook; her son Roger Dale Shook; and her siblings, Beulah Handy, Ina Rakes and Willie Marshall.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Victoria Campbell (Rodney) of Roanoke and Roger Dale "R. D." Shook, Jr. (Kelly) of Roanoke; her great grandchildren, Justin Shook and Donovan Johnson; her great great grandchild Ella Shook; and her sister Katherine Boyd of Stuart. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
