He was predeceased by: his stepfather John "Ed" Sims; and his aunt Marilyn Cantrell. He is survived by: his parents, Brenda McManus Sims of Stuart and Richard Burnette of Lincolnton; his brothers, Kevin (Jill) of Greensboro, Chris of Florida and Bryan (Rachel) of Michigan; his nephews, Lance and Brandon; and his cousin Donnie of Clearwater, Florida.
