He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Taylor Walker Simpson and John Coleman Simpson; and his siblings, Estelle McGuire, Carroll, Marvin and Arnold Simpson.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Bradner Simpson; his children, Sandra Simpson Hall (Burt) of Culpepper, VA, Sheila Rebecca Simpson of Danville, VA, John Simpson of Callands, VA and Jeffrey Simpson (Dawn) of Danville, VA; his sister Betty Lou Simpson of Danville, VA; his grandchildren, Donnie "Binky" Parker (Cindy), John "Cole" Simpson, Faith Simpson and William "Luke" Simpson; his great grandchild Elena Coleman; his brother-in-law James McGuire; and also Wade Walton.
