It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jack Benton Handy of Stuart, Virginia, who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Burley Handy and Mindy Vipperman Handy Hiatt; his former wives, Mayonie Bowman Handy and Juanita Gay Martin Handy; his great grandchild Kendall Brooke Fisher; and his siblings, Ocie Belle Handy, Delcie Cassady, Nedie Mae Handy Hiatt and Larry Hiatt.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel Deal Handy of Stuart; his children, Connie Handy Vipperman (Amos) of Patrick Springs, VA, Darlene Hall Edmonds (Shannon) of Stuart, Alberta Blackburn (Roy) of Stuart and Jimmy Lee Belcher of Stuart, VA; his grandchildren, Jennifer Dawn Edmonds Barnard (James), Christian Michael Edmonds (Kellie), Susie Lee Vipperman, Faith Mayonie Vipperman, Heather Younger (Jeremy) and Amber Adkins; and his great grandchildren, Emree Grace Barnard, Valley Lou Barnard, Myles Harper Edmonds, Lowen Nathanael Edmonds of Kagen, Scott Fisher Jr., Kaiden Marquise Younger, Kaylee Grace Younger, Kaleb Wayne Younger, Lakelynn Syke Adkins of Derick and Conner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The lying in state will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (202 W Blue Ridge St, Stuart, VA 24171). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at the Knowles-Eden Family Cemetery.
