He was predeceased by: his father E. K. Wood; his significant other Peggy Wray Wood; and his siblings, Hanford Wood, Gifford Wood, Eura Tuggle, Essie Nolen, Viola Rorrer and Lucy Opal Wood.
He is survived by: his sister Edna Mae Atkins (Ed Atkins); his stepdaughter Jennifer Wray; his stepgrandsons, Brayden and Cayson Walmsley; his nieces, Denise Taylor (Ronnie Taylor) and Brenda Belcher; and his nephew Gary Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be made to Franklin County Humane Society or Martinsville SPCA.
