With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elsie Newman Simpson (Stuart, Virginia), born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on June 8, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Edgar and Esther Wright Newman; and her siblings, Della Atkinson, Bertie Branch, Dee King, Roger Newman, Cliff Newman, Paul Newman, Troy Newman and Garnett Newman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Penny Slate (Eddie), Amy Simpson and Jill Simpson; her grandchildren, Derek Slate, Drew Slate (Nichole), Courtney Fish Wright (Elvis), Abby Irby (Gabe) and Elly Bledsoe; and her great grandchildren, Kieran Slate, Avery Slate, Arden Slate, Salem Slate, Reece Slate, Emery Irby, Sarah Irby, Judah Irby and Bowen Irby.
