She was predeceased by: her parents, Edna Stanley Strader and Johnny Strader; her spouse Avrid Hartwell Oakes; and her siblings, Kathleen Wray, Mildred Thompson, Herman, Bobby and Walter Strader.
She is survived by: her children, Liz McDuffie and Tim McDuffie of Yanceyville, NC; her siblings, Carolyn Weiss (Tom) of Providence, NC and James Strader (Nancy) of Mebane, NC; her siblings-in-law, Shirley Strader and Carlton Oakes (Peggy); her niece Mikayla; her granddaughter Dawn Pittman; and her close friends, Sharon Sage, Sherry Evans and Nancy Gibson. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren.
