Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Janet Smith (Strasburg, Virginia), born in Cavetown, Maryland, who passed away at the age of 97, on April 6, 2020. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Martin and Lelia Wise Phetteplace; her husband Julius Hottle Smith; and her children, John P. Smith and Jeanette Smith.
She is survived by: her daughter Joan M. Bischoff (Mike) of Strasburg, VA; and her daughter-in-law Beulah Smith of Maurertown, VA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to St. Stephens Lutheran Church Building fund, c/o Linda Racey, 15716 Back Rd. Strasburg, VA 22657.
