He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Philip and Nell Spengler Richard Updyke; and his wife Jean Elizabeth Painter Updyke. He is survived by: his daughter Susan Ritter (David) of Stephens City, VA; his granddaughter Taylor Ritter; and his siblings, Philip Wayno Updyke of Strasburg, VA, Benjamin Franklin Updyke of Strasburg, VA and Sara Sandra Bergey of Strasburg, VA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
