He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Mitchel Racey, Sr.; and his brothers, Thomas M. Racey, Jr. and Jeffrey S. Racey. He is survived by: his mother Barbara Ellen Griffey Racey; his nephew Travis Hockman; his wife Christel Dawn Himelright Racey; his son Austin Racey; his stepchildren, Aaron Sager and Shannon Cook; his brothers, Mike Racey and Rick Racey; and his uncle Aubrey Griffey. He is also survived by four nieces; one nephew along with numerous cousins.
