He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Ernst and Catherine Mary Colvin Ahlers; and his grandson Christopher Allen Romer. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Ahlers of Strasburg, VA; his daughters, Tina Ahlers Maddox (Jimmy) of Strasburg, VA and Cathy Elaine Ahlers of Winchester, VA; his grandchildren, Brian Andrew Maddox (Laurie), Chad William Kanatus (Fallon), Emily Quinn Maddox, Brandon Shreck Kanatus (Jessica) and Ashley Noel Phillips; and his great grandchild Marlene Elaine Kanatus.
The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice in memory of Mr. Ahlers.
