It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carl Jackson Cook of Strasburg, Virginia, born in Fort Valley, Virginia, who passed away on October 29, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Carl Jackson may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Carl Jackson touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl M. Cook and Eunice Bowman Cook; and his siblings, Marie Rhodes, Ivan Cook and Jerry Allen Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Lou McClanahan Cook; and his siblings, Hilda Vann of Maurertown, Frances Bowman (Earl) of Maurertown and Cecil James Cook (Wanda) of Strasburg.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Maurertown Brethren Church (24916 Old Valley Pike, Maurertown, VA 22644). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
