He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Philip and Nell Spengler Richard Updyke; his wife Elizabeth Jane Shacklett Updyke; his brothers, Harold Richard Updyke and Philip Wayno Updyke; and his stepson Larry Dyke.
He is survived by: his daughter Terry Cook of Strasburg, VA; his granddaughter Dena Cook; his great grandchildren, Shiann and Clint; and his sister Sandra Updyke Bergey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
