She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Watkins and Ruby Vaughan Watkins; and her half-brother Wiliam Watkins. She is survived by: her husband James Emerson Poarch, Jr.; her children, Dixie Banton (David Adams), Debra Edell (Dean), James Lee Banton (Betsy) and Michael Poarch (Valerie); her grandchildren, Brittany Geiling (Geoff), Rebecca Lucado (Coleman), Justin Edell (Christina Bui), Kendall Edell and Tyler Edell; and her brother Robert Watkins. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Concord United Methodist Church, c/o Dale Hawkins, 19704 Courthouse Rd, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
