He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hill and Isabelle Shine; his former wife Mary Louise Reed; his children, Richard "Nut" Shine and Barbara P. Davis; his brothers, Monroe Eppps Alvin Epps and Carrol Shine (Lizza); and his grandsons, Michael Shine and Steve Davis.
He is survived by: his sons, Charlie "Peter" Shine (Sandra) and Melvin Procise; his wife Sandra; his brother-in-law Jimmy Reed (Frances); his grandchildren, Sheron Shine (Angie) of Hopewell, Derrell Bowman of Chester, Brian Shine of Crew, Renetta Brown, Marcus Lorenzo Parham and Meryl Davis; his niece Alice (UperCarroll); and his sister-in-law Mildred Cruz.
