With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Matthew Sturgeon of Sterling, Virginia, born in Reston, Virginia, who passed away on April 1, 2024 at the age of 20. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Michael Sturgeon and Jane Pittenger. He is survived by: his parents, Matthew Sturgeon and Elizabeth Sturgeon; his grandparents, Cathy Sturgeon of Ashburn, VA and Donald Pittenger of Reston, VA; his cousins, Christina, Eric, Ray Murto of Mosely, VA, David Sturgeon, Alyssa Denzer, Dashiell Denzer-Sturgeon of Washington, D. C., Michael Atkinson, Laina Darter of Centreville, VA, Ellen Pittenger and Benjamin Stevens of Richmond, VA.; and also Mia Sturgeon of Sterling, VA. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family is setting up a scholarship in William's honor.
