He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Carpenter and Helen Carpenter; and his siblings, Teresa "Terri" Carpenter and Gregory "Scott" Carpenter. He is survived by: his children, Philip Carpenter (Anna) of Gore, VA, Cara Lawhorne (Jamie) of Gilbert, SC and Taylor Carpenter of Belleville, IL; and his grandchildren, Peyton Lawhorne, Austin Lawhorne, Avery Lawhorne, Levi Lawhorne and Camden Mack. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mark to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank or the SPCA.
