He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ester Nichols and Iler Irene Nicholson Nichols; and his siblings, Carl, Frank, James, Nicholas, Lewis Nichols and Edith Bell.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Nicholson of Virginia; his children, Barbara Tinsmen (John) of Middletown, VA, Donna Nichols of Charlottesville, VA and Roger Nichols (Carolyn) of Gore, VA; and his siblings, Luna Sorrells of Winchester, VA, Earl Nichols of Stephens City, VA, Ethel Jenkins and Elsie Hawkins. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
