He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Blake Verpent; his children, Linda R. Brower (Eric) of Stephens City, Susan A. Pellot of Martinsburg, WV and Donald J. Verpent (Diane) of Stephens City; and his sister Doris Henry. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
