He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Betty Jean Bayne (Halterman) and Thomas Edward Wharton; his sister Barbara Wharton; his brother-in-law Robert Hughes of Staunton; his sister Katherine L. "Kathy" Rexrode (David) of Sugar Grove, WV; and his nieces and nephews, Alyssa Rexrode, Dustin Wharton, Robbie Hughes and Anthony Smith.
