He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nancy Sparks Lay of Staunton; his parents, Charles Lay and Dorothy Lay; his children, Robert Lay of Pittsfield, MA, Daniel Lay (Becky) of Jacksonville, NC, Jennifer Favazza (Carlo) of Marlborough, MA and Karen Lay of Marlborough, MA; his siblings, David Lay (Helen) of Cumberland, ME, Charlene Adams (David) of Pownal, VT, Judy Sargent (Harold) of Irving, TX and Karen Holt (Lee) of Franklin, MA; and his grandchildren, Makenzie, Serenity, Cameron, Preston, Sarah, Alyssa, Brendan, Kristian and Ethan.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church (535 Pine Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980).
