He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Klotz (Keller) of Virginia and Milton Stuart Klotz. He is survived by: his sisters, Julie Leatherbury (Klotz) and Karen Klotz; his nephew Jacob Leatherbury (Natalie); his nieces, Brooke Leatherbury and Kelsey Swecker (Jacob); his great-nephew Richard Holden Leatherbury; and his great-nieces, Helen Elizabeth Leatherbury, Madison Jane Swecker and Mia Moore Swecker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard's memory to the Staunton-Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, Virginia 24402.
