He was predeceased by: his parents, James Roy and Minnie Belle Mongold Hartman; his wife Marie Catherine Johnson Hartman; his son Jonathan Daniel Hartman; and his siblings, Alfred "Al" Leroy, Ralph William Hartman, Stella Virginia Allison, Dorothy Pauline Thompson and Elsie Irene Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Edwin Hartman, Jr. (Robin) and Lisa Darlene Hartman Mann (Mitch); his grandchildren, Ashleigh Fuson (Bobby), Bethany Kiracofe (Zach) and Chaz Mann (Christina Rankin); his great grandchildren, Carter, David, Theodore Fuson, Violet, Rowan Kiracofe and Emelia Mann; his sisters, Edna Mae Marshall, Wanda Lee Gregory and Shirley Sue Samuels; and his sister-in-law Ann Hartman.
