He was predeceased by: his parents, Dillon Emory and Eva Grace Harper (Beverage); and his daughter Kimberly Thorne (Harper). He is survived by: his children, William Dale "Bill" Harper of Waynesboro, PA and Judy Kay Augst (Robert M.) of Rockingham, VA; his sisters, Ruth Ann Bowers of Fredericksburg, VA and Doris Layne Timberlake of Atlanta, GA; his close friend Luberta H. Doyle of Staunton; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Grace Throm (Ben), Robert Dale Augst (Mandy), Hannah K. Prescott (Ward) and Ashley Marie Andrews (Conrad).
