As we bid adieu to Opal's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Opal has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Edwin and Elsie Mildred Smith Childress; her husband Floyd "Eddie" Edward Nelson; and her siblings, Milton Cornelius Childress and Carolyn Marie Childress.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Edward Nelson (Alexandria), Brian Edwin Nelson (Jennifer) and Veronica Michelle Nelson; and her siblings, Coleman Taliferro Childress, Vanessa Childress and Jacqueline Childress. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
