She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Lee Nessar of Springhill Road; her parents, Roy Miller Smith, Sr. and Virginia Bell Smith (Via); her children, Terry Lee Nessar and Pamela Jean "Pam" Nessar; and her siblings, Billy Via Smith, Roy Miller Smith, Jr., Helen Hodge, Katherine Lyle, Faye Paige Rife and Judy S. Grimm.
She is survived by: her sons, D. Michael "Mike" Nessar (Jane) of Staunton and W. Kevin Nessar (Terri) of Verona; her sister Major Nelson Wade (Harold Lee) of Swoope; her grandsons, Daniel A. Nessar, Kevin H. Nessar and Matthew M. Nessar; her great grandchildren, Dylan H. Nessar, Noah H. Nessar, Sebastian Kevin Nessar and Annabelle Bryant; and her caregiver Darlene Smallwood. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
