She was predeceased by: her parents, John Marshall and Virginia Firebaugh Kunkle; her husband Henry Baker Carey; her cousins, Jane and Jim Taylor; her brother-in-law Maitland Carey; and her friends, Martha Wilkerson, Milly Smiley and Joy Dabney.

She is survived by: her daughter Susan Carey Lendermon; her son-in-law Chuck Lendermon; her grandsons, Evan (Tiffany) and Collin Lendermon (Taylor); her sister-in-law Gennivee Carey; and her cousins, Matthew and John.
