We are sad to announce that on October 11, 2024, at the age of 89, Joyce S. Brooks of Staunton, Virginia, born in Augusta Springs, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Earl and Thelma Esther Woods Shiflett; her husband John Finley Brooks; and her siblings, Earl Kenneth Shiflett, Sr., Henry "Boo" Donald Shiflett, Bobbie Willard Shiflett and Louise Elizabeth Shiflett Fridley.
She is survived by: her significant other Ernest "Ernie" Edward Nuckols; her siblings, Wallace Lee Shiflett of Staunton, Danny Ray Shiflett (Annie) of Craigsville, Patricia Agnes Shiflett Varner and Bernice Carol Shiflett Hammer (Don) of Staunton; her nephew Lee Armstrong; her niece Norma Shiflett; her great-nephew Travis Shiflett; and her great-niece Patricia Michael.
